HOME SERVER
Built and maintained a TrueNAS-based home server environment for storage, applications and self-hosted services. This has given me practical experience with storage, networking and server administration.
WELCOME, USER
17-year-old IT enthusiast based in the UK, building practical experience through computers, servers, networking and self-directed projects.
I'm Zeeshan, a 17-year-old IT enthusiast living in the United Kingdom. I enjoy learning by actually building, repairing and experimenting with technology.
I've built PCs, configured a TrueNAS server, experimented with Linux and Docker, hosted services, worked with networking and solved hardware and software problems.
I'm particularly interested in IT support, networking, servers and infrastructure, while continuing to build the skills and experience that could eventually lead towards cybersecurity.
I believe the best way to learn technology is to build something, break something, understand why it broke, and make it better.
Technical areas I've developed through education, personal projects and practical experimentation.
Built and maintained a TrueNAS-based home server environment for storage, applications and self-hosted services. This has given me practical experience with storage, networking and server administration.
Experimented with Docker-hosted services including Pi-hole and Jellyfin, learning about containers, local networking, service management and troubleshooting.
Configured and maintained Minecraft servers, including server software, mods, networking and public access. A practical project that taught me about hosting and troubleshooting.
Designed and developed a streaming-service website prototype for an IT project, focusing on layout, branding, user experience and front-end development.
Built and maintained my own gaming PC and regularly troubleshoot hardware and software issues. I enjoy understanding how components work together and improving systems where possible.
Skills developed across IT projects, mechanical work, sales and education.
The hardware I use to learn, build, experiment and run my projects.
I enjoy exploring different parts of the UK and discovering new places.
I enjoy long walks and hikes, especially when I can explore somewhere I've never been before.
I'm interested in cars, how they work, modifications and the technology behind them.
My biggest hobby is building things and learning new skills that can eventually be applied to IT.
A combination of practical work experience, customer-facing responsibilities and self-directed technical learning.
Building PCs, managing a home server, experimenting with Linux, Docker and networking, troubleshooting hardware and software, and developing practical IT skills through personal projects.
Gained hands-on experience working in a garage environment as a mechanic. This developed practical problem-solving, attention to detail, safe working habits, teamwork and the ability to diagnose and work through physical problems.
The experience also taught me how to work with tools, follow processes and stay focused when solving problems under real-world conditions.
Gained practical sales and customer-service experience while working in my family-owned business. Responsibilities included serving customers, handling transactions, understanding customer needs and helping with day-to-day business operations.
This helped me develop communication, reliability, confidence and the ability to work professionally with different people.
Completed my GCSE education, developing a foundation across English, Mathematics, Science, Geography and Information Technology.
My strongest area has been IT, where I developed an early interest in technology that has continued through my personal projects and hands-on experience.
Attended college for my first year, studying BTEC IT, Business and Games Design. Although I did not continue into the second year, the experience gave me additional exposure to IT, business and digital design.
Since leaving college, I have continued developing my skills independently through practical projects and hands-on learning.
